National Teams

ASRA coaches want to support you as a rower and athlete, from taking your first strokes on the water to potentially competing at national and international events.  We will discuss your goals and progress and we know - from a history of successfully supporting athletes through the Scotland and GB trials process and into national teams - that we have everything in the club that you need to achieve your best.

For J14-J16 rowers, Scotland takes part as a region of the UK in the Junior Inter Regional Regatta and crews are selected based on their performance at a time trial in Inverness.

Every summer, Great Britain has a match against France for J16 rowers.  Crews are selected based on their performance at trials in Nottingham.

The Home International Regatta pits junior and senior teams from Scotland, England, Wales and Ireland against each other and the Scotland team is selected based on performance at the annual Scottish Championships in Strathclyde Park.

Throughout every season, GB Rowing has a series of ergo performance targets and on-the-water trials to build a junior team for the U19 World Championships and the Coupe de la Jeunesse (European Junior Championships).

Of course your time at ASRA is only a chapter in your story.  Read a little about one former member… Miles Beeson - British Rowing
